Help CenterExpensesSplit Options Explained

Split Options Explained

50/50 Split (Default)

Each parent is responsible for half. If you paid $100, your co-parent owes you $50.

Percentage Split

Custom percentages based on your agreement:

  • 60/40 — You paid $100, they owe $60 (if they're the 60%)
  • 70/30 — You paid $100, they owe $70 (if they're the 70%)
  • Any other ratio

Full Reimbursement

You want 100% back. Use for:

  • Expenses per your agreement that are fully the other parent's responsibility
  • Emergency expenses they agreed to cover

No Split

You're recording for your own records but not requesting reimbursement. The expense shows in the history but doesn't affect the settlement balance.

Setting Your Default

Go to Settings → Expense Setup to set your default split ratio. This will pre-fill when adding expenses.
