Help CenterUnderstanding Your RecordsHiding vs. Deleting

Hiding vs. Deleting

What's the Difference?

Hiding

  • Removes item from YOUR view
  • Item still exists in the database
  • Still appears in exports
  • Your co-parent's view unchanged
  • Can be unhidden later

Deleting

  • Would permanently remove the record
  • NOT available for most items
  • Would compromise audit integrity
  • Would enable manipulation

What Can Be Hidden?

  • Timeline entries (from your view)
  • Older conversations (archived)
  • Resolved expenses (from active view)

What Can NOT Be Deleted?

  • Sent messages
  • Submitted expenses
  • Timeline entries
  • Calendar history
  • Anything shared with your co-parent

Why?

The inability to delete protects both parents equally. Neither can make evidence disappear.
