Hiding vs. Deleting
What's the Difference?
Hiding
- Removes item from YOUR view
- Item still exists in the database
- Still appears in exports
- Your co-parent's view unchanged
- Can be unhidden later
Deleting
- Would permanently remove the record
- NOT available for most items
- Would compromise audit integrity
- Would enable manipulation
What Can Be Hidden?
- Timeline entries (from your view)
- Older conversations (archived)
- Resolved expenses (from active view)
What Can NOT Be Deleted?
- Sent messages
- Submitted expenses
- Timeline entries
- Calendar history
- Anything shared with your co-parent
Why?
The inability to delete protects both parents equally. Neither can make evidence disappear.
