Requesting Schedule Changes

Life happens—work trips, special events, illness. The schedule change system lets you formally request modifications.

How to Request a Change

  1. Click "Request Change" or "New Request" from the Calendar

  2. Select the type:

    • Swap — Exchange days with your co-parent
    • Request Time — Ask for time that's currently co-parent's
    • Offer Time — Give your co-parent some of your time
  3. Select the dates involved:

    • Click days you're offering (your time you'll give up)
    • Click days you're requesting (their time you want)
  4. Add a title — "Work trip swap" or "Emma's birthday party"

  5. Add a message (optional) — Explain the request

  6. Click Submit Request

What Happens Next

  1. Your co-parent receives a notification

  2. They review the request and can:

    • Approve — Calendar updates automatically
    • Decline — Original schedule remains
    • Propose Alternative — Counter-offer different dates
  3. You're notified of their response

  4. The entire exchange is recorded in your Timeline

Request Status

  • Pending — Awaiting response
  • Accepted — Calendar has been updated
  • Declined — Original schedule unchanged
  • Expired — No response within the time limit
  • Withdrawn — You canceled the request

Solo Mode Note

In Solo Mode, you can still document schedule changes that occur. Use the "Log Deviation" feature to record when actual custody differed from the planned schedule.
