Setting Up Your Custody Schedule

The Calendar Setup Wizard

The Wizard walks you through creating your custody schedule step by step.

  1. Go to Settings → Custody Schedule or click "Set Up Schedule" from the Calendar

  2. Choose your pattern type:

    • Week On/Week Off — Alternating full weeks
    • 2-2-3 — Two days, two days, then three days rotation
    • 3-4-4-3 — Alternating three and four day blocks
    • Every Weekend — One parent has every weekend
    • Custom — Build your own pattern
  3. Select the start date — When does this pattern begin?

  4. Choose the starting parent — Who has the children on day one?

  5. Set transition times — Default pickup/drop-off time

  6. Assign to children — Which children follow this schedule?

Pattern Details

Week On/Week Off Children spend one full week with each parent, alternating. Transitions typically happen on a consistent day (Friday evening, Sunday evening, etc.).

2-2-3 Schedule A two-week rotation where children spend:

  • 2 days with Parent A
  • 2 days with Parent B
  • 3 days with Parent A
  • Then reverses the next week

This results in approximately 50/50 time over each two-week period.

Custom Patterns Build any pattern by clicking each day and assigning it to a parent. Patterns can repeat every 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks.

Multiple Schedules

If your children have different custody arrangements:

  1. Create the first schedule and assign relevant children
  2. Create a second schedule for other children
  3. The Calendar automatically shows which child is where

Completing Setup

Once you finish the wizard:

  • Coverage Check: You'll see which children are covered by the new schedule.
  • Next Steps: You can easily create another schedule for any remaining children.
  • Standby Mode: New schedules are saved as "Standby" by default. This lets you prepare everything before making it live on the shared calendar.
