Understanding the Custody Calendar

The Calendar is the heart of CoParentCompass. It shows who has the children, when transitions happen, and all child-related events in one place.

Visual Elements

Color-Coded Days Each day is color-coded to show custody:

  • Your color — Children are with you
  • Co-parent's color — Children are with co-parent
  • Split — Different children in different places (shown with indicators)

Transition Markers Custody exchanges are clearly marked with:

  • Time of transition
  • Location (if set)
  • Which children are involved

Events Calendar events appear as badges or blocks:

  • School events
  • Medical appointments
  • Activities
  • Holidays

Child-Specific Views

Multiple Schedules Made Easy Each child can have their own custody schedule. If your children are on different patterns (common in blended families or when older children have modified arrangements), the Calendar handles it seamlessly.

Filtering by Child Click a specific child in the sidebar to filter the calendar to just their schedule and events. This instantly shows you that child's custody pattern and upcoming activities.

Shared View

If you are in Co-Parent Mode, your co-parent sees the exact same base schedule. Any changes made or requested appear in real-time for both of you.
