Children's Messages

How It Works

Children can send messages from their portal, but with important safeguards:

All messages go to BOTH parents simultaneously.

This prevents:

• Triangulation (child playing parents against each other)
• Secret-keeping that creates loyalty conflicts
• One parent being uninformed

What Children Can Message About

Encourage children to use messages for:

• Asking schedule questions
• Sharing good news
• Requesting something from both parents

What's Not Appropriate

The Children's Portal is not for:

• Complaints about one parent to the other
• Private conversations with one parent
• Anything that should be parent-to-parent
