Starting a Conversation

Step-by-Step

  1. Go to Conversations (or Messages)

  2. Click "New Conversation" or "Compose"

  3. Choose recipient:

    • Co-parent (platform message if they're joined)
    • External email (for others or non-joined co-parent)
  4. Enter a topic — Be specific: "Jake's Braces" not just "Medical"

  5. Write your message

  6. Attach files if needed (receipts, documents, photos)

  7. Click Send

Tips for Good Topics

✅ Good: "Emma's Soccer Schedule Fall 2025" ❌ Avoid: "Soccer" (too vague to find later)

✅ Good: "Reimbursement for School Supplies August 2025"
❌ Avoid: "Money" (could be anything)

What Happens After Sending

  • Your message is timestamped and locked
  • Co-parent receives a notification (per their settings)
  • The conversation appears in both your inboxes
  • Read status updates when they open it

Immutability Note: Once you click Send, the message becomes permanent. Draft your message carefully. You can save drafts before sending.
