Young Children's Portal (Ages 5-8)

Designed specifically for younger children, this portal provides a safe, simple environment focused on emotional well-being and reducing anxiety about transitions.

Key Features

Where Am I? 📍 A simple, visual way for your child to know where they are today and what's coming next.

  • Shows today, tomorrow, and the next day's schedule (restricted 3-day view for children under 13)
  • Shows current location ("At Dad's House")
  • Uses consistent visuals for each home

Feelings Check-in 😊 Helps children express emotions without needing to type.

  • Simple emoji-based selection
  • Sent to both parents automatically
  • Data Minimization: For children under 13, we only keep the child's most recent emotion selection. History is not stored.

Encouragement (Parent Emojis) ❤️ A safe way for parents to stay connected throughout the day.

  • Parents can send a "Quick Hug" or "Thinking of You" emoji
  • Appears on the child's dashboard as a positive notification
  • Purely visual, no text or tracking

Love Notes 💕 A safe way to send pre-written messages to parents.

  • Pre-composed messages only (COPPA compliant)
  • Example: "Love you!", "Miss you!", "Had fun!"
  • Messages go to both parents' inboxes

Safety & Privacy

  • No open text input: Children cannot type custom messages
  • No internet access: Closed environment
  • Dual Parents: All activity is visible to both parents by default
  • Door Logout: Simple "Door" button to exit the portal

How to Enable

  1. Go to Settings → Child Portal
  2. Select your child's profile
  3. Toggle "Enable Portal"
  4. Co-parent Approval: For children under 18, access requires consent from both parents. When you enable the portal, your co-parent will be notified to review and approve the settings.
  5. Set a simple PIN code for your child
  6. Share the PIN with your child

Revoking Access

Either parent can revoke access at any time with a single click in the Family Members settings. Revocation is immediate and notifies the other parent.

Safe & Private by Design

CoParentCompass is built with a "Children First" privacy approach.

  • COPPA Compliant: Explicit parental consent required for children under 13.
  • No Third-Party Tracking: We use NO analytics, tracking, or marketing tools on child-facing pages.
  • Full Transparency: Both parents can see all settings and activity.
  • Minimal Data: We only collect the bare minimum data needed to support the child's experience.
