External Messaging
What is External Messaging?
External messaging lets you communicate with anyone via email while keeping the full record in CoParentCompass:
- Co-parent who hasn't joined — Your messages go to their email; their replies come back to you
- Attorneys — Keep your lawyer in the loop with documented communication
- Grandparents — Coordinate schedules with extended family
- Doctors, therapists, teachers — Communicate with care providers
How It Works
- Start a new conversation
- Select "External Email" as the recipient type
- Enter their email address
- Write and send your message
They receive a regular email. When they reply, their response is captured in your conversation thread.
Why This Matters
Even if your co-parent refuses to use CoParentCompass, you can still maintain organized records of all communication. Your outreach AND their replies are documented with timestamps.
